Senate Republicans bolted Washington for August recess without passing Trump's SAVE America Act — the voter integrity bill the president has hammered his own party over for weeks.

Despite promises from hardliners like Sen. Mike Lee that they'd block the exit until the bill passed, every suitcase was packed and every flight was booked.
